Alpha has been an integral part of the church's life for some years now and has proved to be a most relaxed, non-threatening, low key and effective way of presenting the good news of Jesus Christ to anyone who wishes to explore the Christian faith.

The Alpha course consists of a series of talks spread over 11 weeks looking at topics such as "Who is Jesus?", "Why and how do I pray?" and "Does God heal today?". The course revolves around the Holy Spirit weekend, which gives people an opportunity to open themselves up to God the Holy Spirit and experience His reality and power in their own lives.

The Alpha course originates from Holy Trinity Church in Brompton in London.
