The Mustard Seed is situated at 86 Victoria Street in Kirkwall, which is next to the Baptist Church, and has a great selection of Bibles and Christian books, videos/DVDs and CDs, along with cards and stationery. We have one full-time staff member Jan Gordon, and voluntary staff who help out during the week. We are inter-denominational and our volunteers are from different churches in the County. We have many titles covering subjects from devotions and daily readings to Christian biographies and Bible studies along with children’s titles and Christian best-sellers through to a vast range of Christian music CDs from a variety of artists. We are always willing to order anything that you require and love to get feed-back about items that have meant something to you personally. |

We also have a wide choice of fairly traded food, teas, coffees, confectionery etc plus a fantastic selection of fairly traded crafts and gifts from many different third-world countries. The fair-trade label is a brand designed to allow customers to identify goods that meet agreed standards of fairness. Fair-trade ensures that producers work in safe conditions, are paid fair wages, and that products are mindful of the environment. Why do we do it? We, as Christians, believe that getting to know Jesus Christ is the best gift that God can give you and that He is the only answer to every problem in life. We believe that we should thank God for what Jesus has done and receive by faith His gift of new life. For this very reason, our staff are willing to give of their time and talents – so that you can meet Jesus for yourselves. We all have a commitment to God and a love for people and are more than willing to talk about our faith, if you would like that.
